Classical guitarist Sasha Savaloni is the 1st prize winner of the Sevilla International Guitar Competition in 2018.
As a soloist he has given concerts in Italy, Spain, France, Iran, Ireland and throughout the United Kingdom, performing recitals in venues such as the Kings Place (London), Sage Gateshead (Newcastle), City Halls (Glasgow), Stevenson Hall (Glasgow), DIT Conservatory (Dublin) and the Leeds College of Music as well as performances in festivals such as the London Guitar Festival, St Magnus International Festival, Sul Tasto Paris, Big Guitar Weekend, Festival Corde d’Autunno, Les Garrigues Memorial Emili Pujol, Bath Guitar Festival, Shrewsbury Guitar Festival, Plug New Music Festival and the Ullapool Guitar Festival.
He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the European Union Youth Orchestra. He has also performed and given interviews for BBC Radio Scotland’s Classics Unwrapped programme.
Sasha has won numerous awards and prizes; including 1st Prize at the Sevilla International Guitar Competition (2018). Park Lane Group selected artist (2019), Second Prize and the Audience Award at the Miguel Llobet International Competition in Barcelona (2015), 1st Prize Chanterelle Guitar Award (2010) and many others.
Sasha is a lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is also pursuing a Doctoral degree at the RCS focusing on performance of Schubert’s music on guitar.
